w/ Patricia Brown & Surya Chandra Das
Tulum, Mexico
March 12 - 19, 2011
Yoga, meditation, the sound of the sea, the unhurried pace of the Caribbean and this intimate setting are ideal conditions to allow our natural state of relaxation and inner stillness to emerge.
These yoga retreats will be held at Shambala and Uno, adjacent retreat facilities situated on Tulum's spectacular white sand beach. We have selected these two intimate resorts for their quietude, simplicity and beauty.
The entire Tulum peninsula is an electricity-free area. The facilities have minimal impact on the environment, lighted by the stars and candles. (Generated and solar powered electricity is available for a time in the evening.) These secluded resorts are bounded by the jungle on one side and the ocean on the other, providing a unique opportunity to rest in the support of the natural world. There is a small market within walking distance and the famous Mayan ruins of Tulum are nearby. Mayan healers are available for sessions in massage and other forms of bodywork. The environment of Tulum provides the ideal conditions for a restorative and renewing yoga retreat.
This yoga retreat is suitable for anyone, regardless of age, physical ability or prior experience in yoga and meditation. Patricia & Surya bring over 30 years of teaching experience to this unique 8 day retreat, inviting you to expand your experience of yoga as a vehicle for awakening; liberating body and mind from old patterns, cultivating the capacity for inner listening on and off the mat and opening to the spacious presence that you are.
There is ample time between session to explore the ruins, have body-work, walk on the expansive white-sand beaches, swim in the turquoise waters or simply rest under the palm trees.
