Harvesting the gifts of The Unkown
What are we harvesting from our practices?
self-compassion, kindness, self-responsibility, resilience, gratitude, generosity, wisdom, openness, presence love of earth…more kindness in and out….
What wants to be surrendered which blocks a deeper knowing?
What reveals this deeper wisdom? Can we stay present when life offers challenges and in which the pearls of wisdom arise?
Surya and I have passed through a time of surrender … Last month, September 2022, we sold Rolling Meadows to two of our students and are opening to the deeper call within to move forward with less responsibility for the maintenance of our former 100 acre farm, home, and retreat center.
We will continue to teach but for now there is a vacuous time… an unknown time asking for Presence and Openness.. this has been a deep dive into practice and sometimes I feel quite new, even after 40 years of practice, in the nuance and art of surrender, inner listening, opening to the unknown, feeling, being..
Here is a poem I wrote about this moment. Perhaps you are also letting go of something and haven’t landed yet and are navigating the terrain of the unknown for which we have had few guides.
It is truly a fertile and challenging moment full with potential…. I meet you there!
Boundless love, Patricia
The Unknown
How quickly the void
moves to be filled
with another’s
ideas and ways to be.
How rare to surrender to
the void….
to a space and time
of no direction
no identity defining
the fabric of a life.
To simply stay as the Openness…
To be willing to watch
the tides of possibilities
roll in and out again.
To be willing to stay
in this uncomfortable
and unfamiliar ambiance
Until Openness, itself
is recognized as the only
true ground of Being.
Harvest time
What are we harvesting from our inner work and what are the seeds of the harvest which nurture self-compassion, kindness, self-responsibility, wisdom, love of earth…
What needs to be surrendered which no longer serves, blocking the deeper knowing inherent within each of us.
What reveals this deeper wisdom and can we make space to nourish whatever that maybe?
